This morning I went to a clinical conference that is held every morning for residents, interns, and 3rd and 4th year rotating students.  The anesthesiologist spoke about pharmacological agents used in the treatment of tracheal trauma.  It was quite interesting.  I never made the connection of an extubation being the removal of the oxygen tube placed in the trachea via intubation.  Another interesting tidbit was that ketamine is a drug that can be used in a wide variety of environments, such as ambulatory medicine for patients that need anesthetics.  I plan to attend more lectures.
